We are both greatly encouraged and deeply feel the heavy responsibility on our shoulders. I will continue to lead the enterprise towards a new direction and strive to build a world-class enterprise. "On July 29th, the 6th National Commendation Conference for Outstanding Builders of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for Non Public Economic Personnel was held in Beijing. Li Wengen, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Hunan Fullde Electric Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Fullde Electric"), said after being awarded the title of "Excellent Builder of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics".

Turning around twice to become an 'innovation pioneer'

In 2019, the first batch of national level specialized and new "little giant" enterprises in China was announced, and Fullde Electric was listed. This year marks the fifth year that Li Wengen has led the company to shift from "material processing" to "independent research and development".

How can a small and medium-sized enterprise start from "zero research and development" and grow into an "innovative pioneer" in the field of power electronics in 5 years? The answer lies in the two key "turns" on Li Wengen's entrepreneurial journey.

The first 'turn' was from sales to manufacturing.

In 2002, Li Wengen, a "gold medal salesperson" who achieved an annual performance of over 2 million RMB, resigned and founded a company to sell resistors as an agent. In 2003, the company's net profit exceeded 10 million yuan. Looking at the beautiful book numbers, "young entrepreneur" Li Wengen's mind was: without manufacturing capabilities, the enterprise cannot go too far.

In 2006, he founded Dongguan Fullde Electronics Co., Ltd. and began to engage in contract manufacturing of consumer electronics products. Riding on the momentum of the "world factory" accelerating the development of the private economy, the company's business is thriving. In 2013, the company's revenue exceeded 700 million yuan.

Business is going smoothly, Li Wengen is always prepared for danger: How long can we continue with the OEM processing model of "earning up to 3 yuan per product"?

In the process of outsourcing, I saw that high-end power electronics testing equipment in China heavily relies on imports, with expensive prices and lagging services. More importantly, key technologies are subject to others. Li Wengen saw that emerging industries such as power batteries, wind power generation, and photovoltaics have entered the fast lane of development, and the market demand for advanced power electronics equipment is huge, which is also an area that the country urgently needs to break through.

So, Li Wengen turned around again. In 2014, he returned to his hometown Yiyang, Hunan and established Hunan Fullde Electric Co., Ltd., shifting from consumer electronics outsourcing to independent research and development of high-end power electronics equipment.

Dare to take the first step. Difficulties are only "three or two light"

At the beginning of investing a large amount of cost in research and development, Li Wengen was mentally prepared for "no output at all". Technology research and development must adhere to a long-term approach. Innovation does not yield immediate results, and may even have no results, but 'if you don't get into the water, you will never learn how to swim'.

Technology is advancing rapidly, and the market is changing rapidly. "By the time you've figured everything out, opportunities have already slipped away," Li Wengen said

Fullde Electric has continuously increased its research and development investment, established deep industry university research cooperation mechanisms with multiple universities and research institutions, and founded Zhuzhou Fullde Rail Transit Research Institute Co., Ltd. Now the company has mastered a series of key technologies, authorized 81 invention patents, 307 utility model patents, 9 appearance patents, and solved multiple technical problems.

Looking back at the list of the first batch of specialized and innovative "little giants" enterprises six years ago, the "leading products" column of Fullde Electric was filled with "energy feedback power battery charging and discharging detection system". Li Wengen introduced that this technology can feedback the electrical energy released during battery discharge to the factory power grid for reuse, with significant energy-saving and emission reduction effects. And the technology has been constantly iterating and upgrading, now applied in fields such as energy storage batteries and aerospace, and has become a "golden calling card" for Fullde Electric in the global power electronics testing equipment market.

Produce products that meet the needs of the times

Fullde Electric's innovative technologies and products are widely used in fields such as rail transit, new energy, and ship power systems. The continuous emergence of new technologies in power electronic equipment has reduced the operating costs of the power grid, improved safety and stability, and ultimately benefited every ordinary person, "said Li Wengen.

Following the trend of industrial transformation and meeting the needs of national development, this is the driving force behind every "turn" of Li Wengen. He said that the development of enterprises should "closely follow national strategies and produce products that meet the needs of the times"; The same goes for personal development: 'Integrating personal career into the overall development of hometown and country is a' choice needed by the times'.

This land of innovation and entrepreneurship should not disappoint those who work hard. In 2024, Fullde Electric actively responded to the initiative of jointly building the "the Belt and Road" and successfully expanded overseas markets. The company's overseas sales revenue increased by 75% compared with 2023.

This rapidly growing enterprise never forgets to actively contribute to society. Fullde Electric has completed the intelligent transformation of power grids in 127 administrative villages in areas such as Xiangxi and Chenzhou. In addition, during his tenure as the first secretary of Qiangongba Village in Taojiang County, Yiyang City, Li Wengen donated over 6.5 million yuan for public welfare undertakings such as education.

Practicing the original mission of "serving the country through industry" and fulfilling the social responsibility of "cultivating virtue and storing wealth", Li Wengen has led Fullde Electric to steadily move forward and explore more possibilities in the field of power electronics.
